Description

Altitude Healthcare is a staffing agency that supports Long Term Care (LTC) homes and hospitals who are experiencing staffing shortages. Our staffing strategy is built for long-term growth and sustainability. We are currently looking for Registered Practical Nurse to join our dedicated, caring and energetic team of support staff. Long-term assignments and travel opportunities are available.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the provision of nursing care in accordance with established standards of nursing practice set by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Contributes to the assessment and documentation of each resident‘s health status on an ongoing basis.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the Plan of Care and evaluates its ongoing effectiveness. Communicates effectively with residents, staff, families, physicians and team members.
  • Provides excellent patient care at all times along with individualized service.
  • Observes reports and records symptoms and conditions of residents.
  • Administers medication as necessary. Responsible for maintaining the security of drugs and narcotics according to applicable policies and legislation.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CNO registration- entitled to practice with no restrictions
  • A valid police check for the vulnerable sector- must be dated within six (6) months.
  • TB test within the last 12 months
  • Covid -19 Immunization Documentation
  • Immunization Record (TdaP, MMR, Varicella/Zoster, TST/Mantoux, Hepatitis B)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
