Family Practice Clinic Nurse(part time,RN or RPN)
Part time nurse required for vibrant downtown Guelph Family Practice Clinic.
Hope Health Centre is a full-service family practice clinic along with specialty clinics in HIV care and Obstetrics ( reproductive health). Part of the Guelph Family Health Team, our clinical team includes physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses. Our clinic is growing and we need a nurse to work with one of two family physicians along with the HIV clinic.
Duties include:
-Rooming patients and performing basic work-up including vitals signs, weights and minor lab tests (eg urine dips, throat swabs, blood draw)
-Independently performing minor procedures such as wart treatment and ear syringing
-Assisting with office procedures
-Administering vaccines and injections to patients of all ages
-Management of vaccines and equipment in compliance with public health regulations
-Responding to patient enquiries and assistance triaging patients requesting urgent and semi-urgent appointments
-Communicating results and follow-up plans to patients by phone and email
The ideal candidate has:
-RPN or RN with experience in family practice and/or community based medicine
-Experience with some or all of the duties described above
-Comfortable manner with a wide range of patients of all ages
-A desire to learn and a drive to improve clinic processes
-The ability to work collaboratively in a small team
-Experience working with an electronic medical record, Telus PS Suite is an asset
-Experience in phlebotomy
