ACCEPTING RECENT GRADUATES WITH CNO REGISTRATION

Wawel Villa is a charitable non-for-profit Retirement Residence that provides a home-like and caring atmosphere for residents and staff. We offer affordable assisted retirement living on a picturesque ravine lot in the village of Clarkson just steps from public transport and the shops and restaurants of Lakeshore Rd. West. Wawel Villa is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to work in our Charge Nursing department. Applicants must be available to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and weekdays. Applicants must also hold a current CNO registration, First Aid and CPR certificates and have proficient knowledge and compliance for infection control. Applicants must also have strong interpersonal skills and are comfortable interacting with seniors. Experience in a long-term care environment or retirement home with care services and medication administration is an asset.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
· Medication administration and documentation
· Resident assessment and documentation
· Charting of Resident care
· Observation and monitoring of the health, safety and security of Residents
· Communication and coordination with the Director of Care, the PSW department, the Administrator, physicians, pharmacies and hospitals as required

· Bilingualism in Polish and English are considered assets

• RPN Certificate
• Must have current CPR certificate
• Medication Administration course if giving out medication
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a Long Term Care setting or a retirement home setting
• Knowledge of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis if attendant is providing nursing duties
• Experience in geriatrics and rehabilitation
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written in English
• Familiar with current Resident Care standards and legislation
• Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices and procedures
• Must have demonstrated leadership and problem solving abilities
• Must have demonstrated capabilities of being a self-starter and able to make responsible decisions in the face of uncertainty and stress
• Good physical and mental health and free from communicable diseaseSuccessful candidates must provide a current criminal record check and vulnerable sector search, proof of Covid-19 vaccine, TB test results.
