Your Opportunity:
The Northern Addictions Centre offers a range of addiction services including Detox, and an intensive Residential Treatment Program for substance abuse and gambling for adults. Under the direction of the Manager of the Northern Addictions Centre, and the Assistant Head Nurse, the incumbent is responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the Northern Addictions Centre (NAC). This includes initial assessment of clients upon admission as well as ongoing assessment and support of clients, including management and de-escalation of behaviors through the withdrawal process and during the client’s residential treatment stay. The incumbent will work on a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing direction to Client Care Assistants and overseeing the care they deliver. As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Psychiatric Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(a)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
