MyLearningCoach is a collective of educational professionals who provide individualized support to post-secondary students enrolled in various college, trade and university programs. We specialize in supporting students who experience barriers related to various disabilities or medical conditions that impact their learning. MyLearningCoach guides students to obtain full access to the resources, strategies and skills necessary for academic success.
Along with our Academic Coaching Services, MyLearning Coach provides Educational-Psychological Assessment Services as a point of access for students who require more information about how they learn and to serve as verification of disability required for students to access post-secondary learning accommodations and additional support services.

JOB OVERVIEW

MyLearningCoach is looking for Registered Psychologists to join our team as Independent Contractors who provide virtual assessment services for post-secondary students located in various parts of the country.
*We are currently seeking Psychologists who are registered to complete virtual assessments for students located in some of the following places: Yukon, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Counselling, Educational Psychology or Psychology with formal training in psychological assessments.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College/Society of Psychologists in the province/territory where you are permitted to practice.
  • A minimum of two years of assessment practice.
  • Prior educational and clinical experience in the administration, scoring and interpretation of cognitive, academic, social/behavioural/emotional, executive and adaptive functioning assessments for adults.
  • Prior success in supporting students with learning disabilities/developmental delay/executive dysfunction.
  • Experience supporting individuals who identify as LGBTQ2S+
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have professional liability insurance.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Google platforms, Adobe

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment services to students experiencing educational and/or social challenges that impact them in post-secondary.
  • Administer and interpret various psychological tests and assessment instruments related to cognitive function, academic achievement, memory, behavior, emotions, academics, social skills, adaptive functioning, executive function, and more.
  • Assess and diagnose various disabilities that impact learning, including cognitive, intellectual and neuropsychological conditions, as well as learning disabilities, ADHD, mental health conditions, and autism spectrum disorder.
  • Compile comprehensive assessment reports that will provide information about how the student learns and will include essential components such as student demographic information, reasons for referral, assessment methods and results and recommendations related to cognitive functioning, academic achievement, behavioural observations, and emotional/social functioning.
  • Assessment reports will serve as verification of disability in that they will clearly diagnose or identify any learning disabilities, ADHD, mental health conditions, or other relevant diagnoses based on the assessment findings.
  • Provide recommendations for post-secondary learning accommodations, assistive technologies and additional support services (academic strategy instruction, tutoring, etc) necessary for full access and participation in post-secondary education.
  • Offer one-on-one consultation with students to de-brief the assessment results and discuss appropriate accommodations and school placement/programming, if applicable.
  • Stay informed about current research in educational psychology and psychology and apply relevant findings to clinical practice.
