Empathic Counselling Centre, located in the heart of Scarborough, is looking to expand their team to meet the increasing mental health needs of the community. Seeking to work with a passionate therapist who reflects the values of this grass roots company: empathy, non-judgement and unconditional acceptance. Empathic Counselling Centre is committed to providing quality psychotherapy services both virtually and in-person and is looking for a highly-skilled practitioner to provide individual and couples counselling. This position is perfect for the those who are looking to grow within and with the company, contribute to its emerging workplace culture, and appreciates and practices with cultural competence. In addition, the ideal candidate is one that is also able to supervise Counselling Psychology Practicum Students. We are seeking to work with a passionate professional who values a supervisory relationship that enhances professional learning, develops ethical decision making skills, and provides support for our therapists, however, this is not a mandatory requirement.

About the successful candidate:

  • A registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), in good standing
  • Experienced in working with individuals and couples
  • Uses evidence-based theories and treatments in therapy
  • Specializes in any specific treatment modality including, but not limited to: CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Marriage and Family Systems Therapy, EMDR
  • Has clinical competence to provide structured psychotherapy in the areas of trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and/or addictions
  • Has availability to meet clients in-person, weekly
  • Can work remotely
  • Has access to a private space to ensure client confidentiality, reliable Internet connection, and a computer with camera for virtual sessions
  • Comfortable with technology and is willing to use it daily
  • Open to working evenings and weekends
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop genuine rapport with clients
  • Able to work with a high level of flexibility
  • Able to work well independently but also as a team

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: Up to $105.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week

Education:

  • Master’s Degree (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • CRPO membership (required)
