  1. Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program and satisfactory completion of the registry examination by the NBRC.            2. Training and Experience: Licensed to practice respiratory care in the state of Arkansas. BLS required. ACLS preferred but not required.  3. Job Knowledge: Delivers appropriate care to patients from neonatal through geriatrics with regards to age specific considerations. Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, associates, patients, and visitors.  4. Safety Sensitive: YES In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.”  A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.  DESCRIPTION:  A registered therapist who is responsible for respiratory care given in any area of the hospital including special care units. Maintains appropriate documentation as required by administration, state, and federal authorities, and regulatory. May be assigned supervisory responsibilities when adequately prepared.  Physical Effort: Maintains good physical well-being. Job requires walking, bending, pushing heavy equipment and wheelchairs, and occasional lifting of patients.  Mental Effort: Maintains good emotional well-being. Possesses the ability to work under stress. 
Responsibilities
The registered therapist is responsible for delivering respiratory care in various areas of the hospital, including special care units. They must maintain appropriate documentation as required by administration and may have supervisory responsibilities.
