Sanford, FL Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Schedule: Nights | Rotating Weekends Base Pay Range: $28 – $40/hour (depending on experience) Entry-Level: ~$28/hr Experienced (12+ years): ~$35–$40/hr Shift Differentials: Nights: +$4.50/hr Weekends: +$3.00/hr Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 Relocation Assistance: Case by case Overview A Level II Trauma program in the Sanford region is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a high-acuity respiratory care team. This role supports patients across critical care, emergency services, cardiopulmonary units, and procedural areas, providing both diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory interventions. The position offers strong clinical growth potential, including exposure to vascular access and advanced airway management. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure evaluation. Conduct diagnostic testing to determine therapeutic needs and patient response. Deliver respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy. Assist with artificial airway placement and provide ventilator initiation, monitoring, and maintenance. Monitor patients for therapeutic response; notify providers and intervene appropriately for adverse reactions. Support transport of ventilator-dependent patients. Respond to emergency situations, ensuring airway protection and adequate ventilation during resuscitation. Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and timely. Qualifications Required Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NBRC credential + state licensure. Completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associate Degree or equivalent). BLS within 30 days of hire. ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 6 months of hire. Experience Requirements Open to new RRT graduates (must have passed boards or be awaiting formal licensure). CRT experience alone does not qualify for this opening. Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly compensation: $28–$40/hour. Night differential: +$4.50/hr.
