Sign On Bonus: $10,000 (24 month agreement) Part Time, Night Shift Job Overview: Responsible for respiratory care and inpatient 12-lead electrocardiography. The incumbent must be proficient in the use of the equipment used in resuscitation, continuous ventilation, respiratory care, and 12-lead electrocardiography. Will, as requested, organize, and deliver in-service programs for the respiratory services staff and other patient care staff. Job Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) approved respiratory therapy program Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) must be licensed by the Ohio Medical Board. Experience: Previous experience as an RCP - preferred Strong skills in oral and written communication, customer service, organization, decision making, time management, and interpersonal relations Ability to exercise independent judgment Basic computer skills Job Responsibilities: Practices respiratory care within the limits of the laws governing the practice of respiratory care within the state of Ohio. Responds to all codes and emergency situations. Functions efficiently in emergency situations, such as severe trauma, cardiopulmonary arrest, and other life-threatening emergencies. Sets up and operates continuous ventilators and ventilatory support devices. Makes recommendations based on acid-base status. Displays knowledge of all various modes of ventilation and weaning techniques. Sets up, operates, and monitors oxygen delivery equipment. Completes daily rounds to check oxygen systems. Works as a member of the care delivery team, integrates respiratory therapeutics, and patient/family education with services and education provided by other members of the care delivery team. Performs routine inpatient 12-lead electrocardiographs. Displays knowledge of electrocardiograph interpretation. Maintains, cleans, sterilizes, and performs routine checks on equipment according to policies and procedures. Draws arterial blood gases, when necessary. Displays knowledge of acid-base balance and clinical application of arterial blood gas reports. Attends seminars on topics relating to the functions of the department; relays knowledge to the respiratory services staff and other care delivery staff, as needed, through organized in-service programs, including, but not limited to ‘CMH Grand Rounds’. Performs endotracheal intubation for establishment of airway control and/or mechanical ventilation, operating room rotations, if needed. Performs clerical duties to ensure accurate and complete records of treatments, medication delivery, supplies, charges, and other reports as required. Performs all other related duties, either within or away from the hospital campus, as requested or required by the Manager, Respiratory Services. Flexibility to work all shifts as part of the PRN pool staff if classified as PRN/per diem.
