REGISTERED VETERINARY NURSE (DAYS) - NEW ERA VETS, JERSEY, CHANNEL ISLANDS

We have a fantastic opportunity for an RVN to join our friendly and supportive team at our RCVS accredited mixed practice on the beautiful island of Jersey.

We’re proud to run the only small animal veterinary hospital on the Channel Islands, which contains a huge range of equipment, including an in-house laboratory, ultrasound and digital x-ray tools, CT scanner, pulse oximeters and capnographs. Plus, it’s only five minutes away from the beach!
We also run a variety of nurse clinics, giving every member of the team the chance to make a real difference to local animals.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse at New Era Vets you will play a crucial role in our hospitals operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Monitoring and caring for hospitalised patients
  • Conducting laboratory tests and diagnostics procedures
  • Providing exceptional nursing care to our patients
  • Educating clients on pet care and medications
  • Maintaining accurate records and patient files

Our rota nurses work an average of 38 hrs per week across a 10-week rota with varying shifts including wards, lab and surgery.
The rota consists of 1 Saturday morning in 10, 1 full weekend in 10 followed by a 5-day weekend, 1 Saturday night in 10 (plus covering night nurse holiday).
Varying shift patterns from 7am-4pm through to 3.30pm until 9.30pm.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Current registration with the RCVS as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassion and a genuine love for animals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work both day and night shifts (rotating schedule)
