We are looking for a dedicated RVN to join our team at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists as a Dispensary Nurse, where your attention to detail and passion for excellent patient care will play a vital role in ensuring safe and effective medication management.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR TEAM

  • We are looking for a proactive and highly organised RVN with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular liaison with both clients and internal teams.
  • Confidence in managing stock and following protocol is key.
  • Previous experience in a referral setting or in a dispensary role is advantageous.
  • A qualification such as SQP-C, or an interest in pursuing further learning in this area, would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
  • Dispensing prescribed medications and handling client queries, including taking payments.
  • Managing and fulfilling order lists, including repeat prescriptions and staff orders.
  • Overseeing stock control, ordering, and bi-annual stock checks in line with IVC protocols.
  • Ensuring secure storage and handling of all pharmaceutical products on site.
  • Sourcing medications and products from a range of suppliers and pharmacies as required.
  • Maintaining dispensary SOPs and ensuring daily cleaning and compliance tasks are completed.
  • Representing SCVS in external meetings with suppliers and regulatory bodies (e.g. VMD).
  • Supporting documentation requirements such as import certificates.
