Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our close-knit and supportive team at Carterton Vets. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding caseload within a modern, purpose-built practice, working alongside a friendly team of vets and nurses who pride themselves on delivering excellent patient care.

ABOUT US

Carterton Veterinary Surgery is a purpose-built small animal first opinion practice that has been serving the local community since 2014. Our facilities include a large reception with separate dog and cat areas, dedicated wards for dogs and cats, an isolation kennel, a large prep room, imaging room, dental theatre, and surgical theatre.
We are based in West Oxfordshire on the edge of the Cotswolds – an area renowned for its countryside beauty – while still being close to Oxford and within easy reach of London.
Our team is small but passionate, made up of 2 FTE vets (both working towards certificates in small animal medicine), 3.5 FTE nurses, 1 student nurse, and a practice manager. We have a genuinely friendly and welcoming culture, with a team that supports each other both inside and outside of work.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for an RVN with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience, who is confident across a range of nursing duties and committed to providing excellent patient and client care. A proactive and positive attitude, along with a willingness to contribute to our close-knit team, is essential.

Responsibilities

This role offers a broad mix of nursing responsibilities, including inpatient care, surgical nursing, anaesthesia, nurse clinics, and occasional reception duties. You’ll work 4 full days per week (10-hour shifts with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break) and take part in a fair 1 in 8 Saturday morning rota (8.30 am – 12.30 pm).
