Responsibilities

We are offering the opportunity for a proactive, dedicated Night RVN, to join the Vet-24 Night team based at Village Vet St Albans.
Rota: 4 nights on 8 nights off rolling rota.

The role is hands on and duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Assignment of cases to nurse and support throughout your shifts, with a proactive, holistic approach to inpatient care, under the guidance of the Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Triage out of hours calls and visits to the hospital, supporting the veterinary surgeon with appointments, treatments and procedures.
  • Be actively involved in nurse-led patient handover from the night team to the day team, providing detailed clinical updates of any current and new inpatients.
  • Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of all areas of the hospital, alongside the day team.
  • Be active in Continued Professional Development, with the possibility of partaking in extra studies in support of the emergency and critical care lifestyle, adopted by an out of hours service.

We are recruiting for a Tier 2/3 RVN to join the night nurse team, where you will be working alongside the Veterinary Surgeon to support effective management of overnight and urgent care patients.
Our Nurse Career Framework also supports an industry leading pay scale of bands and associated tiers to reflect appropriate remuneration for the skill set held while identifying future goals and opportunities. Our nurse teams are actively supported in their career development as part of the Linnaeus Nursing Career Framework, which is designed to support career progression and development via clinically focussed pathways and/or a people leadership pathway.
CPD including advanced qualifications is actively encouraged as this facilitates development of skills for veterinary nursing teams.
