REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a veterinary technician program or certification
  • Hold and maintain RVT License in Alberta
  • Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital is considered an asset but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment is considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
  • Veterinary medical nursing duties
  • Monitoring anesthesia
  • Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment
  • Maintain cleanliness of clinic

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a licensed, entry level or experienced RVT to join our team at the Douglas Square Pet Clinic. You ideally have great communication skills, great work ethic and teamwork skills. The ideal candidate must be a team player. An interest and experience in animal welfare, anesthesia and dentistry are assets. Surgical, medical and customer service care will be required for this position. The wage on offer will be commensurate with your experience and can be discussed at interview.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$32.00 per hour
