REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN, ICU

Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Department: Intensive Care Unit ICU
Schedule: Full-time. Shifts are designed to provide flexibility and variety, with durations ranging from 10 to 12 hours. The schedule includes a mix of daytime, evening, and overnight shifts, rotating regularly to ensure a balanced workload to accommodate the needs of the team.
Alta Vista Animal Hospital is excited to welcome a dedicated Veterinary Technician (RVT) to our team of skilled veterinary professionals. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and support our board-certified specialists, gaining valuable experience and knowledge in a collaborative environment. While our network is large, we still offer that local community feeling, mentorship, and additional training!
Fall 2025 we will be expanding to a brand new state-of-the-art Veterinary Centre! Come be a part of our team!
Our ICU team members are our superstars of all things patient care related. These caring, and dedicated individuals ensure that all hospitalized patients are treated like one of their own during their stay.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has completed a Veterinary Technician program.
  • Knowledge of surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery.
  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.
  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude, including the ability to ask clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-finding
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents.
  • Passion to learn more within the role.
  • A love for all companion animals!!
