Description

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registered Veterinary Technologist certified in (VTS-IM Oncology) or an RVT with 2 years of experience and a keen interest in specialty medicine.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a dynamic and diverse team
  • The ability to remain calm and adaptable under pressure, effectively managing stress while maintaining productivity and focus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out assignments independently
  • Positive outlook and enthusiasm for learning
  • High aptitude for digital equipment & veterinary software programs
  • Passionate about building relationships with pet-parents
    Schedule: This position is full time (40 hrs/wk). Shifts are 10 hours in length, 4 days per week. The department is currently open Monday through Thursday each week.
    Compensation: $27.00 to $38.00 per hour. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
Responsibilities
  • Placement of intravenous catheters & monitoring of patients during anesthesia or while sedated
  • Excellence in performing phlebotomy/venipuncture
  • Preparing slides for cytology & completing necessary lab-work submissions accurately
  • Proficiently perform digital radiographs. Willingness to learn hands-free procedures.
  • Previous experience with administering chemotherapy medications is an asset, however not required as training will be provided
  • Ability to thrive in a steady and fast paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with both colleagues and pet parents
  • Proven ability to keep accurate patient records and an above average attention to detail
