These units care for oncology patients undergoing surgical interventions for diagnostic, treatment, and palliative purposes as well as patients undergoing general surgery, colorectal, hepatobiliary, plastics, urology, and gynecology. On E4, there are 3 Observational Care beds (obs) providing expert level care for complex post-operative complications and monitoring through technological methods such as patient safety net monitoring. Both units utilize a patient & family-centered, evidence based approach to care and are frequently recognized for their positive impact on patient experience.
