About the role This is a fixed-term, full-time 12 month or 6 month opportunity. The Palliative Care Registrar is based at Neringah Hospital and provides palliative care reviews to patients in an inpatient setting, and works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that medical clinical care is provided to inpatients of the Palliative Care service, under the supervision of the Specialist-in-charge. HammondCare is a NSW Health-affiliated organisation all NSW Health transferrable entitlements will be recognised. The essence of this role Provide in-patient care to people admitted to the Palliative Care unit Liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in providing patient care Maintain an appropriate standard of personal professionalism at all times and in all activities undertaken Implement a personal learning program for the term in conjunction with their Specialist Supervisor Participate in after-hours care of palliative care inpatients About you Essential Unrestricted NSW Medical Board Registration or eligibility for Unrestricted NSW Registration Primary Medical degree, eligible for Medical Board registration, and a minimum of two years supervised practice as an RMO Experience in Palliative Medicine preferred. Strong administrative and computer skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Current Driver’s License Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team Organisational ability – both personal organisation and ability to supervise others Demonstrated compassion and caring attitude. Desirable Advanced palliative medicine trainee (RACP, AChPM) or other Accredited trainees (eg other specialities, general practice) Previous training in oncology (medical or radiation) or other relevant specialities Experience in medical research and quality assurance Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching Working towards post-graduate qualifications in Palliative Medicine (including a palliative care diploma) or related specialty Benefits - What are we offering Market-leading remuneration Salary packaging; $15,900 annually for living expenses, plus up to $2,650 each year for entertainment benefits.
