Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Participate in the twenty-four-hour operational retrieval roster as required, including the retrieval of complex medical, surgical,
    obstetric, paediatric and psychiatric emergencies.
  2. Support the Medical Retrieval Consultant in the remote management of patients referred to the Medical Retrieval and Consultation
    Centre (MRaCC) via telephone and telehealth services
  3. Undertake quality management activities, audit, and continuing medical education including teaching responsibilities.
  4. Complete written documentation and maintain computerised records of patient care.
  5. Ensure all equipment and medications are checked regularly, in good working order ready for use; and maintain a thorough working
    knowledge applicable to each.
  6. Maintain awareness of own fatigue status, preparing for shifts with the appropriate amount of rest.
  7. Participate in other duties as delegated by the Head of Department or Executive Director of Medical Services.
  8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
    order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  9. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
