JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

  • MBBS and Master Degree in Vascular Surgery
  • Minimum 1 year of experience post Master Degree in relevant specialty

JOB-SPECIFIC/TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Required Organizational practices/patient safety standards.
  • Command over professional code of ethics, medical bylaws.
  • Knowledge of evidence based Age specific/ Population specific patient care clinical guidelines accepted by the hospital.
  • Culturally competent (Kuwaiti patients’ culture and beliefs).
  • AHA certified Basic Life support provider.
Responsibilities
  • Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Emergency Room Department Policy and Guidelines.
  • Surgical Registrar must be in contact (written or verbal) to visiting surgeons and arrange if needed the admission and preparation of their patients for operation.
  • Regular ward rounds on surgical patients and assist treating physicians during ward rounds.
  • Assists in surgical procedures performed in OR by both in-house and visiting surgeons.
  • Attends casualty cases and should be able to give emergency treatment, be able to do necessary admission procedures and to refer difficult cases to consultants in the clinic. All admission must be done with the consultant’s approval.
  • Completes discharge files and statistics.
  • Shares the on call schedule in the department of surgery as required.
  • Ensures continuity of care for patients while on call.
  • Maintains the highest professional standard of documentation in line with policies and procedures and internationally accepted standards.
  • Responsible to report any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the Clinic or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations which put patients, staff and visitors at risk of injury or other harm.
