Helps licensed pharmacists provide medication and other health-related needs to patients. In this challenging role within a diverse practice environment, you will engage patients and work within a dedicated team to deliver excellent patient care to a range of clients and customers.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to work as a team player and have a team approach
Kroll experience is an asset
Comfortable interacting and serving vulnerable patients (mental illness, seniors, etc.…)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
At least 6 months of pharmacy assistant experience in a retail setting.
Responsibilities:
Patient greeting and confirmation of accuracy of all pertinent prescription information prior to filling
Set realistic customer expectations as to wait times and effectively communicate the time to the customer
Managing customer inquiries both in person and over the phone
Manage incoming faxes by collaborating with patients and pharmacy personnel
Handling customer prescription pick up, and assisting with cashier responsibilities as required in the Pharmacy
Familiar with Third Party Adjudication
Count or measure and fill medication containers or unit dose packages
Maintenance of inventory (putting away received stock, updating inventory counts, ensuring regular replenishment of pharmacy drugs and supplies, putting away stock bottles, management of preferred generic product, removing expired products from the shelf, and other duties as assigned by pharmacy manager and pharmacists)
Ensure customers requiring counseling on prescription products or over the counter items are referred to the pharmacist in a timely and appropriate manner
Contact physicians’ offices as needed (e.g. for special authorization requests etc.) and maintain all relevant documentation
