POSITION SUMMARY

he Regulated Pharmacy Technician, Central Fill is a health care professional that supports the Pharmacy Manager, Central Fill and the Pharmacist, Central Fill through the safe and efficient management of all aspects of drug distribution that does not require the pharmacist’s clinical knowledge, skills and judgment.

Responsibilities

Receive central fill orders transmitted from the originating pharmacy and assess for completeness, authenticity and legal requirements.
Perform computer functions and vial/CPack filling as directed by the Pharmacy Manager, Central Fill or Pharmacist, Central Fill.
Perform the technical check and final check of both CF vials and CPacks.
Alert the Pharmacy Manager, Central Fill, or Pharmacist, Central Fill to any technical or visual errors.
Prepare non-sterile and/or sterile products. Package and label products to maintain integrity and meet legislative requirements. Operate the VBM, Parata Max, or Count Assist machines according to SOPs/User Guides.
Ensure orders are delivered to the correct originating pharmacy.
Determine and maintain inventory requirements sufficient for patient safety and efficient operations. Audit inventory (based on regulations, policies and procedures) and report discrepancies to the Pharmacy Manager, Central Fill, or Pharmacist, Central Fill.
General housekeeping, stocking, filling supplies, keeping the CF facility clean/organized/neat, maintaining and cleaning equipment, and pulling/returning/disposing expiries.
