Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF JOB

To ensure compliance to Chemical Industry Legislation to place The Company’s
Products on the market which carried out in accordance with Company policy
statements, management systems and other statutory obligations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be fluent, an advocate and knowledgeable on the compliance aspects of
    Chemical Legislation involving placing The Company’s products on the Market

to our customers. This includes but not limited to:

  • Great Britain (GB) and EU Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR)
  • GB and EU REACH
  • GB and EU Prior Informed Consent
  • GB and EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging
  • Sri Lanka – Registrar Office of Pesticide
  • India – Central Insecticide Board – Insecticide Act 1968
  • India – Chemical Management and Safety Rules
  • To be a liaison with other Thor members (including other Thor Companies) and

or customers to provide updates, guidance on Legislation.

  • To be part of a Team to visit customers and or Regulatory Agencies to

complete Regulatory Actions.

  • To participate British Coating Federation (BCF), British Chemical Association

(BCA) and or other industry association meetings.

  • To assist in preparation of Registration, Notification and or Authorisation

Documents.

  • To recommend strategies, procedures and or actions to handle Legislation or

Regulatory aspects.

  • To answer customer questionnaires on Legislation and related issues.
  • To be part of the internal auditing team.
  • To maintain contact with Regulatory Affairs Management with regular updates

on significant actions arising from principal responsibilities.

  • To represent the Company at relevant seminars and or industry events as

appropriate.
To be present and participate at appropriate internal Thor meetings, seminars

and or promotional events.

  • To Travel / manage - to appropriate venues to participate in GB Regulatory

Consortia, SIEFs and or other regulatory associations to represent Thor and
the companies interests on gaining regulatory approvals in order to have our

products / chemistry on the market.

  • To participate in any additional duties requested which are required by the

Company and deemed reasonable and within your capabilities to perform.

  • To carry out specific duties and responsibilities detailed in the current

Company policy statements and procedures, with particular emphasis on

those relating to environment, safety, and health.

  • To ensure that both your individual and management responsibilities for safe

working practices with due regard to current health & safety and
environmental legislation and current Company requirements are adhered to
and always maintained during your employment.
