Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Regulatory Affairs, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or certification in Regulatory Affairs is a plus).
  • 3+ years of UAE experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or related roles within technology, cloud services, or a similar industry.
  • Deep knowledge of global and local regulatory frameworks for technology services, especially cloud solutions, data protection, and information security.
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud services and their application in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, retail, etc.).
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and industry-specific laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify potential compliance risks.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with regulatory compliance management tools and software.

Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance Management: Ensure that AWS services, products, and distribution strategies comply with relevant global and local regulations, including data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), cybersecurity, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA for healthcare, FDA for life sciences).
  • Policy Development: Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal policies and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and AWS governance standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare, review, and submit regulatory filings, reports, and compliance documentation as required by regulators and stakeholders.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses to identify potential regulatory risks associated with AWS cloud services and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with legal, product management, and technical teams to interpret and communicate regulatory requirements, ensuring that AWS services meet compliance standards during development, deployment, and operation.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact between AWS distribution channels and regulatory bodies, ensuring effective communication and smooth interaction with government agencies, industry associations, and other regulatory entities.
  • Regulatory Training: Educate internal teams on the latest regulatory changes, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders understand compliance requirements and implement them effectively.
  • Global Regulatory Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with evolving global regulatory frameworks related to cloud technology, data protection, and technology distribution to anticipate and prepare for changes in the regulatory environment.
  • Incident Management: Assist in managing and responding to regulatory inquiries or incidents that may arise from the distribution of AWS services.
