JOB SUMMARY

The Product Claims Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all product claims for food and foodservice related products and appliances on our website, e-commerce platforms, and digital marketing materials are accurate, truthful, and compliant with applicable regulations. You will collaborate with our Content team to ensure the accuracy and compliance of all online product descriptions, claims, and advertisements.
This role will also work closely with Clark’s Procurement division, which procures both private label and branded products for our various distribution channels (industry leading e-commerce platform WebstaurantStore.com, The Restaurant Stores, Clark National Accounts, Clark Food Service Equipment, and 11400, Inc.).
This position reports to the Senior Expert, Product Compliance and is a hybrid position at our office in Lancaster, PA, but open to highly qualified remote candidates.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.

REMOTE WORK QUALIFICATIONS

  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, with a focus on e-commerce product claims, compliance, or digital marketing.
  • Experience working with a wide range of product categories and digital channels, ideally in an e-commerce environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully navigating regulatory requirements and implementing compliance strategies
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with diverse teams

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities
  • Working closely with Legal, Content, and Procurement, develop and implement processes for evaluating and approving online product claims, identifying potential compliance risks, and addressing them proactively
  • Develop, and maintain substantiation standards for product and vendor claims
  • Keep track of updates to e-commerce-specific regulations, industry trends, and standards that impact digital product claims and the online retail space (FTC, Green Guides, etc.)
  • Understand requirements for 3rd Party certifications such as Energy Star, Kosher, and NSF, including licensing obligations
  • Provide ongoing training and support to internal teams on compliance best practices for e-commerce listings
  • Maintain documentation for product claims for auditing purposes, including maintaining records of regulatory submissions and approvals
  • Review e-commerce product descriptions, promotional content, and digital ads to ensure accuracy and transparency regarding product attributes and benefits
