Advisor - Regulatory Qualifications Building Commission NSW Grade: Clerk Grade 7/8 Location: Sydney - Parramatta Opportunity: Temporary opportunity until 30 June 2027 The Building Commission NSW oversees the construction industry for residential buildings with a focus on proactive regulation and data-driven improvements to reduce costs and increase value. We also support industry-led initiatives to build skills and capacity. This role contributes to the independent review of designated regulatory schemes and associated statutory functions relating to qualifications and experience required by authority holders within the building industry. This includes review programs to ensure various industry and legislative requirements are addressed whilst supporting implementation by the relevant business units within the Building Commission. The Advisor role offers a challenging opportunity to: promote a high standard of service delivery to business units and external organisations be accountable for sound, clear decision making coordinate the development and evaluation of regulatory schemes and frameworks gain insight into different aspects of building trades and related legislation promote the integral function of the review process and regulatory qualification framework report on outcomes and provide recommendations for continuous improvement contribute to strengthening good administrative practice within the Building Commission. To be successful in this role, the applicant will have: experience in effectively interpreting a range of legislation strong analytical and decision-making skills assured communication skills that present information precisely and succinctly the ability to exercise appropriate judgement and take accountability for decisions experience in managing competing priorities and working within strict timeframes to contribute to initiatives and opportunities that improve service delivery and stakeholder confidence.
