REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to those who meet the following minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2 years’ experience that includes data entry, document preparation, computer software use, evaluating legal documents or evaluating for compliance with regulations, customer service, or handling sensitive information.
  • College education can substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Responsibilities

The employee in this position will provide professional and regulatory support to the Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling (“491” professions). This position is responsible for performing a wide range of duties related to board office services and other regulatory activities, ensuring compliance with applicable statutes, rules, and policies.
A significant aspect of this role requires the exercise of independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assignments to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with a commitment to maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the board’s operations. Work is performed under the supervision of a Program Operations Administrator and is reviewed for accuracy and completion by periodic review of work products and day-to-day observation of the employee’s work habits.
Essential duties include interpreting and applying relevant statutes, rules, and policies; processing and reviewing applications for licensure, renewals, and other regulatory actions; maintaining accurate records; assisting in the development of regulatory procedures; monitoring compliance with continuing education and licensure requirements; managing electronic and physical files; handling and reviewing sensitive information including transcripts and examination records; communicating with stakeholders; and assisting with the training of new staff members.
Lead worker/Team Lead duties include but are not limited to:
Reviewing registered intern, provisional, examination, and endorsement applications to determine eligibility for licensure for multiple professions, evaluating applicants’ qualifications and licensure criteria in accordance with the laws and rules, generating a LEIDS deficiency or approval letter within 30 days of receipt of the application, completing final action in LEIDS for issuance of a license, approving or denying an application within 90 days of receipt of the final document, and responding to telephonic and email inquiries regarding intern registration and licensure applications in the 491 professions.
The employee must possess knowledge of regulatory principles, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to interpret complex rules, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, LEIDS, OneDrive, the Internet, and DOH SharePoint, ability to maintain confidentiality, attention to detail, customer service skills, and good leadership and grammar skills.
Additionally, this role includes distributing examination scores, managing the 491 zzz email box, responding to written and telephonic inquiries from interns and licensees regarding licensure issues, renewal inquiries, and continuing education requirements, which requires an in-depth knowledge of the laws and rules and the ability to clearly communicate. This also includes processing special reports such as the deceased practitioner information report, requests for accommodations for test-takers, and hardship extension requests for registered interns.
