About the role Work Location 1Powerhouse, PJ (5mins walk from MRT Bandar Utama) Reporting To Regulatory Manager The position is a Regulatory Technologist role in a Global Business Service Center. The primary role is to manage day-to-day regulatory queries and information fulfillment from both internal and external stakeholders in relation to raw materials used within the Region. This role requires close partnership with Regulatory Scientific Affairs, Category Technologist, Procurement, Quality, and Account Managers. This role is an important enabler to drive business growth and a source of competitive advantage by ensuring that information sent to customers is accurate, consistent, and efficient, getting it right the first time. Additionally, this role ensures the accuracy of data for the finished products we produce. Key responsibilities Responsible for supporting the execution of various Traded Goods and Raw Material requests in an efficient and timely manner. Manage specification approvals for all raw materials. Conducts administrative duties within defined guidelines. Ensure that all raw materials comply with policies including allergen management and risk of cross contamination. Highlight any errors/amend raw materials specifications being submitted by suppliers and make sure they are up to date with any relevant changes. Challenge suppliers and ensure requests for information/ food safety questions are resolved/ answered promptly within the critical path timescales. Check and approve relevant Raw Material specifications for legality and accuracy and ensuring correct specs enter the business and ensure raw material specifications cover the ever- changing customer and business technical requirements. Support site audits to cover traceability of incoming raw materials. Create and maintain various documentation such as technical documentation and standard operating procedures. Coordinate and develop effective working relationships between internal (RDA, QA, Operations, Procurement & Commercial) & external stakeholders. Responsible for managing and meeting individual and overall department Key Performance Indicators. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous excellence initiatives. Remain fully flexible to meet business requirements. Qualifications and skills Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or related Life Science discipline. 1-3 years of related experience in food industry in Regulatory, Quality Assurance or R&D Extensive knowledge on quality management and regulation associated with food industry. Experienced in dealing with customer queries request management. Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills in leading discussions and presentations. Experienced in working with cross functional team for a common objective and goals. Experience in SAP, Optiva, Power BI, and Salesforce systems is an advantage. Knowledge in chemical safety is highly required, or at the very least, a plus point. This includes ability to interpret the chemical safety information and ensuring accuracy of data in Safety Data Sheets and similar documentation. Digital fluency - candidates should have a good understanding of digital related knowledge i.e AI, RPA, Copilot, having the aligned mindset and the ability to apply such knowledge in their daily work. Functional Competencies Ensure compliance with food safety regulations while providing accurate regulatory guidance and decision-making support. Address inquiries effectively and ensure customer needs are met with accurate regulatory information. Manage regulatory processes, documentation, and related administrative tasks efficiently. This is a desk-based role which deals primarily with documentation management and customer relations on virtual platforms. Precision in handling and maintaining documentation is critical to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met and communicated effectively.
