Description Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI), Chicagoland's premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations has Part Time Rehabilitation Technician openings (20 hours per week) at our Arlington Heights Rehab Services location. IBJI's Rehab division has excellent full and part time opportunities for individuals looking to gain experience in an orthopedic physical and occupational therapy setting. Rehabilitation Technicians are responsible for assisting clinicians in delivering quality care with the goal of improving a patient's overall quality of life and function. Job Summary A rehabilitation technician is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objectives of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life. Essential Duties Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office. Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies. Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic. Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines. 5. Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities. Communicate with therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program. 7. Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care. Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician. Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials. For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone. Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team. Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity. Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background. Maintain a positive attitude in clinic. Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours. 16. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Job Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age or older. Currently enrolled in school or graduate of at least high school. Position is 20 hours per week and requires availability for morning and/or evening shifts Physical Requirements Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure. Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management. Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills. Skilled in Windows; MS Office; Email access. Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
