Description The Rehab Technician will play a crucial role in assisting a therapist in a SNF setting in providing high-quality rehabilitative services to residents, with a focus on restoring mobility, improving strength and function, and enhancing overall quality of life. Schedule: Full-Time, M-F, 9-5 Therapy Technician Responsibilities: Provide direct care to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Assist residents with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting and position techniques to ensure their safety and comfort. Monitor residents’ vital signs, intake and output, and report any changes or concerns to the nursing team. Assist with resident admission, transfers, and discharges, including orienting new residents to their surroundings and helping them settle into their rooms. Support residents' social and recreational activities by engaging them in meaningful interactions, escorting them to group activities and providing companionship. Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents, including making beds, tidying rooms, and ensuring cleanliness and infection control standards are met. Assist with resident dining services, including meal set-up, feeding assistance, and recording food and fluid intake as directed. Document care provided and resident observations accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements. Participate in educational opportunities and training programs to maintain CNA verification and enhance skills and knowledge in geriatric care. Assist new CNA team members with training and getting actuated with policies, procedures and the layout of the facility. Participate in team meetings and contribute to resident care planning and goal setting. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication skills. Perform all other duties assigned. Requirements Job Qualifications: Current certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) in Ohio. CPR certification. 1 year of+ experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar medical setting preferred. Ability to build rapport with residents through a compassionate and caring demeanor. Commitment to providing high-quality, resident-centered care with empathy and compassion. Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning and intervention implementation. Physical Requirements: Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to work directly with residents, families, and other team members. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, twist. Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus. Capability to assist residents with mobility tasks, including transferring them from beds to wheelchairs, assisting with standing or walking, and positioning them for therapy activities. May need to lift or maneuver equipment such as therapy mats, adaptive devices or weights. Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager. The job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations. Capacity to stand for extended periods during therapy sessions and walk or move around the facility to access residents’ rooms and therapy spaces. The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. Stamina to work full shifts and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day, including providing therapy to multiple residents and documenting training sessions.
