We’re seeking a dedicated Full-Time Flex Rehabilitation Aide to support our Physical and Occupational Therapy departments, collaborating closely with nursing and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. In this hands-on role, you’ll help create a safe, efficient, and compassionate environment for patients on their journey to recovery. This position offers consistent weekday hours—Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with every other Saturday, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. If you thrive in a collaborative, patient-centered environment and take pride in being a reliable, caring team player, join us in supporting the life-changing work of our rehab professionals at UPMC Chautauqua! In this role, there is opportunity to - Assist therapists with patient transfers, positioning, and therapy setup across PT, OT, and SLP areas. Transport patients and equipment safely between departments and treatment areas. Prepare and maintain therapy spaces, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and equipment readiness. Monitor and replenish therapy and linen supplies; report shortages promptly. Escort patients to treatment areas, communicate arrival to therapists, and ensure safe return to rooms. Support licensed clinicians with non-treatment tasks and document patient activities as directed. Communicate patient responses and observations to clinical staff in a timely, professional manner. Perform clerical duties, including scheduling, logging, filing, and answering departmental phones courteously. Assist with training and orientation for new aides and therapy volunteers. Demonstrate awareness of safety, infection control, and emergency procedures, applying proper body mechanics and universal precautions. Required: High school diploma or equivalent Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service Awareness of patient age related differences Ability to read medical record documents Strong planning/organization skills Be able to tolerate stressful situations and be adaptable to changing needs Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of problems that may occur in clinical situations, such as predetermined vital signs and patient symptoms that need communicated with the therapist Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to interact with a diverse population, including but not limited to our patients, healthcare team, coworkers, supervisors, and all members of the Corporate Management Team in a manner that is consistent with our core values of caring & listening, dignity & respect, excellence & innovation, quality & safety and responsibility & integrity Preferred: Previous experience as a therapy technician or nursing assistant Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: New York Mandated Reporter ?
