Description:
EDUCATION
- Grade 12, completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively including patients/residents, families, and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to teach, demonstrate, and instruct.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.

Responsibilities:
Providence Health Care’s Allied Health teams are currently accepting applications for Rehabilitation Assistant positions at both our acute and long-term care sites. Rehab Assistants are key members of our Allied Health teams, delivering a range of therapeutic, recreational, and social activities to support the physical, social, and mental needs of those we treat.
Reporting to the designated Physiotherapy and/or Occupational Therapy Site Leader, our Rehab Assistants are guided by the wealth of knowledge and expertise provided by our interdisciplinary Allied Health teams, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Language Pathologists. Being a Rehab Assistant at Providence provides incredible opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, mentorship, and professional development.
