Company Description

You already know what good workplace rehabilitation takes—sound judgement, strong relationships, difficult conversations and the ability to keep complex cases moving.

What you may be looking for now is the right place to use that experience.

Total Workfit Solutions (TWS) is Tasmania’s largest injury prevention and workplace rehabilitation provider, with a genuinely local team that understands the employers, industries and communities we work with.

We’re now looking for an experienced Rehabilitation Consultant to join us in Hobart.

Here, your experience will be recognised and your judgement trusted. You’ll work alongside experienced consultants and approachable leaders in a supportive, down-to-earth team. There’s autonomy in the role, but help is there when you need another perspective.

  • Excellent pay, relocation support and generous employee benefits
  • Guaranteed flexible working, so you can enjoy all that Hobart and Tasmania has to offer!
  • Opportunities to continue developing and growing your career within the wider group

Job Description

You’ll manage a varied caseload, helping people stay at work or return safely following injury or illness.

The work includes:

  • Initial and Workplace assessments and return-to-work planning
  • Case management and stakeholder meetings
  • Working with employers, insurers and treating practitioners
  • Identifying and addressing barriers to recovery
  • Writing practical, useful reports
  • Managing your own diary, caseload and stakeholder relationships
  • Contributing your ideas and experience to the wider team

Qualifications

This role is best suited to someone who has already worked in occupational rehabilitation, workers compensation, injury management or a closely related area.

You’ll be comfortable managing your own cases and communicating with workers, employers, insurers and treating professionals. You’ll also know that good rehabilitation work is rarely about following a perfect plan. It takes judgement, persistence and knowing when a different approach is needed.

You’ll need:

  • Qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Psychology or another relevant allied health discipline
  • Current professional registration or accreditation, where required
  • Experience in workplace rehabilitation, injury management or a related field
  • A sound understanding of return-to-work practice
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A current driver’s licence

Knowledge of the Tasmanian workers compensation environment would be helpful, although it isn’t essential if you bring solid rehabilitation experience.

Additional Information

What we offer

  • Truly flexible work arrangements (WFH, part-time, supportive of family commitments)
  • Supportive team environment where you will be working with a passionate and dedicated multidisciplinary Allied Health team.
  • The autonomy to manage your work, with experienced leaders and colleagues available when you need support or another perspective.
  • Varied and meaningful work across workplace rehabilitation and injury prevention.
  • A strong local Tasmanian team where your experience, judgement and ideas will be valued.
  • Ongoing professional development and opportunities to grow within a large, well-established health organisation.
  • An extensive employee benefits package including salary packaging, novated leasing, leave purchasing scheme, paid parental leave, Employee Assistance Program and much more!
  • You will also be joining a company that is part of MedHealth, a family of industry leading health, medical and employment enterprises, which has been voted 2 years in a row as an Australia’s Financial Times ‘Best Place to Work’ organisation.
