I. Coordinates the operations of the rehabilitation department to meet resident needs, the budget and federal and state regulations.
2. Coordinates the assignment ofresidents and other responsibilities to staff therapists and therapy contractors in an appropriate manner.
3. Screens, evaluates and treats residents. Assures that residents admitted for treatment received required therapy services and service delivery is documented appropriately.
4. Orients, trains and counsels rehabilitation department employees to achieve and maintain a high standard of care.
5. Involved in the hiring and terminating of department employees according to company protocol jointly with Human Resources.
6. Assures compliance with appropriate policies and procedures for the department and facility.
7. Develops and maintains a medical record system that:
a. Is accurate and concise.
b. Meets governmental and third party payor requirements.
c. Reflects a clear picture of the resident’s problems, the therapists’ intervention and the resident’s outcome.
8. Develops and maintains administrative record system that provides an accurate record of the number of treatments given and labor incurred.
9. Communicates and coordinates the rehabilitation department in a constructive manner that helps build team rapport and effectiveness.
I0. Communicates with Administrator and Regional Rehab Director and/or Area Manager regarding
department programs, goals, objectives, problems and successes.
11. Communicates with the physicians regarding resident problems, progress and department programs.
12. Communicates to the public and to medical personnel outside the facility regarding the therapy services.
13. Participates in:
a. Community awareness and marketing activities.
b. Facility inservice training programs.
c. Care Plan Conferences.
d. Medicare and PPS Meetings.
e. Department head meetings.
f. Inquiry/admission process.
g. Facility quality assurance meetings.
h. Area rehabilitation enhancement meeting.
14. Develops department revenue and controls expenditure of funds to meet budgetary requirements.
15. Sets goals and objectives for the department and implements activities to accomplish them.
16. Supervises therapy student programs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,777.60 - $88,425.50 per year
