Responsibilities SUMMARY (Basic purpose of the job): The primary purpose of the Rehabilitation Medicine Therapist Per Diem position is to provide diagnostic and therapeutic (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy or Recreational Therapy) services to patients of all ages. The Therapist will evaluate referred patients, to implement and administer a comprehensive therapeutic intervention to restore and maximize function, to relieve or reduce pain, and to prevent disability following disease or injury. Qualifications JOB REQUIREMENTS: Graduate from either an accredited Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech Language Pathology (SLP) or Therapeutic Recreational (TR) program. Candidates that are near completion of the degree requirements will be considered.Credential required: Licensed in the State of New Jersey in the area of specialty (PT, OT, or SLP), or certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialistor obtain within twelve (12) months of employment; BLS for the Healthcare Provider or obtain within six (6) months of employment.Primary source verification: PT/OT/SLP: NJ State Board of Consumer Affairs; Therapeutic Recreation: National Council for Therapeutic Certification; BLS: American Heart Association; University Hospital's designated Background Check Company
