Overview Shift: PRN; hours will vary between 7:00am-6:00pm, Mon-Fri + rotating weekends Provides support for therapists to allow for timely, efficient, high quality and safe care of patients. This includes a variety of duties including transportation of patients, assistance with therapy scheduling, provision of assistance to therapists, and performance of activities supportive of the work of the hospital. Find a fulfilling career and make a difference with UnityPoint Health. Responsibilities Assists therapists during evaluations and treatments for patients. Transports patients from hospital room to therapy gym and back to room. Completes appropriate communication to therapists. Organizes and makes sure there are adequate supplies ordered and notifies the manager of additional needs. Completing monthly outdate supplies check. Incoming supplies are maintained in a neat area and items are put away. Make copies of any forms needed for use on the unit. Completes weekly audits of therapy equipment to ensure return to department. Completes audits of equipment with required daily audits. Completes audits of amount of therapy minutes for rehab patients to make sure they are meeting required minutes and notifies therapist and manager of errors or minutes which need to be made up. Set ups white board schedule for therapists at beginning of day and throughout the day as evaluations are ordered. Greets all patients, families, and staff that present to the therapy gym. Answers the phone with a welcoming attitude and ascertains their needs. Reports needs promptly to proper authority (primary therapist) Qualifications Education: High school diploma/equivalent or higher level of post-secondary education. Experience: Read, write, comprehend, and speak fluent English Possess basic computer skills and knowledge. Medical terminology class and completion of Nursing Assistant or equivalent course preferred *Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, internal equity, and other business needs.
