Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Aviation Reinsurance Analyst to support exposure analytics, data-driven decision-making, and consultancy services within our aviation reinsurance division. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical skills, sophisticated data expertise, and a solid understanding of aviation and insurance industries to optimize risk evaluation and portfolio management strategies.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong proficiency in data management, analytics, and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python/R).
  • Experience in insurance and/or aviation industries, with a clear understanding of reinsurance structures.
  • Expertise in numerical analysis, probability, and statistical modelling for risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with aviation risk categories, fleet valuations, and global insurance markets.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, present findings, and guide decision-making.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in reinsurance, underwriting, or actuarial analytics.
  • Background in aviation operations or aerospace risk management.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard catastrophe modelling tools (e.g., RMS, AIR Worldwide).
  • Professional qualifications in insurance, reinsurance, or data analytics (e.g., CII, CFA, actuarial certifications).
Responsibilities
  • Data Technician Duties:
  • Manage, process, and validate large datasets related to aviation risks and reinsurance exposure.
  • Develop and refine analytical models to support underwriting and risk assessment decisions.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across various internal and external reporting systems.
  • Exposure Analytics:
  • Conduct detailed exposure analysis, identifying key trends and potential risk areas across aviation insurance portfolios.
  • Support catastrophe modelling and loss estimation efforts to improve risk mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize geospatial data and sophisticated analytical techniques to assess territorial exposure and claims impact.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate sophisticated analytical insights effectively.
  • Consultancy & Industry Insights:
  • Provide expert recommendations on aviation reinsurance risk management strategies.
  • Offer consultative support to underwriting teams and stakeholders on market developments.
  • Collaborate with insurers, brokers, and aviation experts to improve predictive modelling capabilities.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, technological advancements, and emerging risks in aviation insurance.
