Reinsurance Technical Operations Analyst - Latin America

Your responsibilities

  • Actively manage assigned reinsurance portfolios (Treaty Proportional and Non-Proportional) for assigned broker and direct business including non-proportional claims operations.
  • Check and record technical accounts (including but not limited to, commission adjustments, profit commissions, premium adjustments, etc.). Monitor receipt of technical accounts.
  • Assist in the processing and reconciliation of individual XOL claims, including monitoring outstanding reserves to ensure accuracy and timely settlement in accordance with treaty terms; prior strong experience in claims handling is beneficial.
  • Credit Control/payments duties in our reinsurance workbench and administration system and General Ledger. Monitor and manage reinsurance payables and receivables for assigned portfolio. Review and record collections and payments corresponding to the Reinsurance technical accounts. Review, reconcile and collect ceding company open balances.
  • Active communication with brokers and direct clients as required.
  • Close cooperation and information exchange with Underwriting, Claims Management and Finance
  • Conduct various periodic controls (e.g.: quarterly closings) and reporting tasks (Power BI)
  • Actively take part in various internal projects
  • Electronic archiving of all accounts and documents in our workbench tool
  • Special Tasks if and as assigned.

Your profile

  • Three to five years Reinsurance experience in Claims Operations/support and Technical Accounting
  • Sound command of Spanish and English (written and spoken). Additional languages are welcome.
  • Very good IT user skills (Outlook, Excel (Pivot Table level), Word, Power BI) and flair for IT systems integration and development
  • Flair for numbers, excellent analytical skills and experience in reporting
  • You call yourself an open-minded, proactive and a positive person with a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and high self-motivation.
