Embark on a journey within the Energy, Infrastructure and Commodities BU, a Business Unit within the Corporate & Institutional Banking Strategic Business Unit (CIB SBU), which is present across the entire energy, infrastructure and metals value chain with a strong pan African focus and has an experienced and dedicated pool of professionals providing tailor-made financing solutions to clients. The Power & Infrastructure (P&I) team focuses on the financing needs of international clients active in the power sector and wider infrastructure asset class on the African continent by structuring innovative medium to long term financing solutions, enabling our clients’ long-term growth. This highly specialised and dedicated P&I unit is now being called upon to expand given its increasing (i) origination and structuring capabilities and (ii) regional and international footprint. We are on the lookout for: Job vacancy: Relationship Executive Your responsibility will be to work closely with the Relationship Manager to manage and develop a diversified portfolio of customers and achieve assigned targets in line with set standards to grow business value whilst mitigating risk. In this role you will, Provide tailored financing solutions and maintain close contact with clients through participating in structuring initiatives and sales strategies, attending client calls & meetings and overseas trips as and when required; Provide excellent customer service, assist to open new accounts, conduct KYC review for clients, maintain necessary documents for all operations and maintain effective relationships with clients; Maintain good collaborative relationships with the whole CIB team and support functions, to continuously have Strategic Business Unit goal congruence and coherence; Collaborate closely with the Relationship Manager, LPF and Middle Office Teams and other stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Risk and Compliance) to prepare credit applications and/or credit memos for existing and new clients for sanctioning and to come forward with structured tailor-made financial solutions to suit clients' needs within Risk frameworks of the bank; Support and advise the RM in carrying out a first level appraisal of prospective customers or deals to promptly decide to transfer all relevant information and documents required to the CIB Product Teams for detailed analysis; Manage any change to systems, processes and strategic parameters in order to maintain operational fluidity and avoid disruption to growth target and pipeline; Prepare and maintain regular high quality presentations and portfolio updates to enable the team to (i) monitor the evolution and performance metrics of the portfolio, (ii) identify deviations and suggest corrective actions (iii) and take informed decisions on the development of deal pipeline. We are looking for a candidate who has: A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or Management or Banking or a numerate degree with quantitative elements (such as Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or Business); MBA / CFA / ACA / ACCA is not a prerequisite but will be considered a plus. At least 3 years’ working experience in Corporate Banking / Investment Banking / Project Finance / Financial Analysis / Credit Analysis / Quantitative Analysis or Strategy and Research / Corporate Finance in a big 4 / reputable accounting firm; OR At least 6 years’ working experience in Corporate Banking / Investment Banking / Project Finance / Financial Analysis / Credit Analysis / Quantitative Analysis or Strategy and Research / Corporate Finance in a big 4; AND Strong credit analysis and quantitative skills; Knowledge of the Power & Infrastructure sectors with a focus on the African continent; Proficient in MS Office applications; Knowledge of Banking - Risk Analysis.
