JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Relationship Executive on the Innovation Economy Technology, Middle Market Banking team, you will be responsible for growing and retaining profitable relationships within the Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries specializing in Technology.
The Innovation Economy Technology team is part of J.P. Morgan’s Commercial Bank in its Middle Market Banking and Specialized Industries group. In this role you will be the focal point of client acquisition and ongoing relationships with the world’s most innovative companies. We work both independently and as part of a dynamic team to deliver the entire firm to our clients.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • 8+ years of years of experience in the technology and venture ecosystem
  • Proven track record of sourcing and navigating complex sales opportunities, ideally in commercial banking, venture debt, venture capital, or other technology-related services
  • Strong understanding of Commercial Banking products and services
  • Excellent sales management and business development skills
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partnersSelf-directed, proactive, and creative; uses sound judgment and navigates ambiguity to get things done

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to build a brand within your market that represents the Innovation Economy team as the “Leading Innovation Economy bank serving the best and most diverse clients”
  • Identify top technology companies in the Innovation Economy and connect with their key executives (Founders, CFO, VP of Finance, etc.)
  • Develop new business in your market by acquiring new relationships, deepening existing relationships by delivering the entire Firm, and leading internal strategic discussions across all our solutions including credit and payments
  • Relentlessly focus on seeking out the best and most diverse founders powering innovation by leveraging a referral network built through business activities and relationship development
  • Champion a culture of innovation and a customer centric mindset balanced with the ability to manage risk (credit, operational, and reputational) appropriately
  • Be passionate about innovation, the start-up eco-system and entrepreneurship, leading to a desire to stay up to date with industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation or strategic partnerships
