Sterling Williams are supporting an international bank in their search for a Relationship Manager to be based in their Baker Street offices.

The role holder is primarily responsible for driving profitable volume growth through value added sales and service of Commercial / SME customers. This part of the bank is focussed on high-net-worth / priority customers and will have an aim to grow the deposits specifically.


Relationship Manager

Permanent; Full-time - 5 days per week in the office

Baker Street, London (W1U)

Salary circa £50,000 - £60,000 pa plus benefits.


The role will consist of targeting and managing an assigned portfolio of customers within the commercial credit business segments. The key challenge in this role is to manage both existing and grow new corporate portfolios and to read early warning signs that could affect the portfolio health.


Customer Objectives:


  • Customer networking, visits and managing client appointments
  • Trade & FX referrals to the business
  • Sirat referrals for clients seeking Islamic Banking solutions
  • Targeted account opening volumes and deposits.


Commercial Objectives:


  • Targeted asset growth of the branch balance sheets
  • Targeted deposit growth of the branch balance sheets
  • Negotiate client proposals for assets and deposits
  • Submit proposals to internal credit and account opening teams
  • Disburse lending in accordance to branch targets


The successful candidate will have:


  • 5 years’ experience or equivalent Relationship Management role in Banking sector.
  • Hold all relevant professional certificates, and record of CPD
  • Line Management work experience would be beneficial
  • In-depth product knowledge
  • Customer service skills and relationship management
  • Client and portfolio knowledge
  • Knowledge of sector, regulatory environment, understanding Bank policy and procedure
