Rabobank’s Financial Restructuring & Recovery (FR&R) team, part of our Line 2 Risk Management division has an opening for a Relationship Manager, Financial Restructuring & Recovery. Reporting to the Senior Relationship Manager, FR&R you will join a highly engaged team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the management & resolution of Country Banking clients across Australia who are experiencing financial difficulties or are in default. You will navigate complex situations that that require strategic thinking, resilience, & an ability to negotiate with both clients & stakeholders. Whether it’s working to build resilience within a business, delivering through sensitive financial restructures or leading legal recovery processes, your focus will be on delivering effective solutions. This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne. Top Role Accountabilities: Collaborating with clients & front-line Account Managers to develop & execute restructuring or recovery strategies. This will arranging & attending meetings with clients & Account Managers, formal correspondence, & ongoing progress reviews. Where agreement isn’t achievable, you will work with your Senior Relationship Manager to determine the best strategy to take forward Liaising with key decision‑making bodies across the Bank Reviewing client documentation other correspondence required under the Bank’s legislative obligations Assess & provide feedback on client requests Manage all stages of restructuring & recovery, including Farm Debt Mediation, asset sales, & debt reduction programs - seeking Senior Relationship Manager support where required Work closely with internal & external lawyers, providing instructions to implement restructuring actions such as security releases or asset disposals Engaging with insolvency professionals, including receivers & accountants Analysing financial & other client‑provided information Preparing internal reporting, including management committee reports, Credit Committee papers, APRA returns, audit materials & provisioning recommendations Preparing reviews & applications alongside Country Banking transaction teams; provide credit decisions where appropriate under delegation Liaise with stakeholders with stakeholders across the Risk Division & broader Bank to provide timely updates on the management of problem loans To be successful in the role, you will have: 3 years + experience gained in a financial institution or reputable insolvency practice Experience in problem management & insolvency procedures within a complex environment Knowledge of insolvency procedures (particularly recovery proceedings) & problem loan management Understanding of legislative obligations & industry codes (e.g. FDMA, BCOP) as well as key TCF concepts in workout situations including (but not limited to) hardship & vulnerability Exposure to lending in Rural/Agricultural or Middle Market sectors The ability to influence & communicate effectively with internal & external stakeholders Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills Strong negotiation skills The ability to manage difficult situations with professionalism, sensitivity & tact What we’re proud to offer you: Rabo@Anywhere is our hybrid way of working at Rabobank & for Australia, that means we have a blend of time working between the office & home Wellbeing leave.
