Job Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Previous experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the insurance industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with potential clients and build relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills to close deals and secure new business.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a business development role.
  • Ability to build and maintain a strong professional network within the insurance industry.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in handling client information and conducting business transactions.

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and business opportunities within the insurance industry.
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate leads and convert them into clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, understanding their insurance needs and presenting suitable insurance solutions.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed business development targets.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the agency and establish connections with potential clients.
  • Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Identify and establish partnerships with other businesses and organizations to expand the agency’s reach and client base.
  • Maintain a CRM system to track interactions with potential clients and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Work closely with the agency’s marketing, underwriting, and claims teams to ensure a cohesive approach to business development.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new insurance products, and sales techniques; provide training and support to other team members as needed.
