This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.
This role is part of a pending contract proposal. We are actively interviewing to identify qualified candidates in anticipation of a successful award.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field

  • Ability to analyze system requirements and develop engineering specifications
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across engineering lifecycle phases
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical documentation

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like MagicDraw or Cameo

  • Prior experience working with military or aerospace platforms
  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.

Responsibilities

Schedules maintenance and preventive maintenance. Ensures interoperable functionality while also managing and refining Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) to streamline corrective action processes using Reliability, Availability, Maintainability - Cost (RAM-C). Tracks parts consumption, maintains documentation, and deploys technical support to troubleshoot maintenance issues. Provides reports on repair action costs, particularly for high-cost scenarios, justifying the economic feasibility of corrective actions. Contributes to technology refreshment through market research and cost-effective engineering analysis, and maintains up-to-date maintenance instructions to ensure effective operation and maintenance of systems. Develops risk matrices as needed.
