Contract: 12 months with view to perm thereafter

OVERVIEW

Dillon Enginering Services is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer for a leading global pharmaceutical client in Westport.The Reliability Engineer will champion continuous improvement to reduce the levels of risk to the business for both equipment and utility-related issues on site and ensure engineering compliance with requirements. Support the Maintenance Excellence Program by targeting critical equipment assets for optimisation and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A third-level qualification in Engineering or a relevant discipline plus 3 years relevant experience , or Trade qualification plus six years plus engineering experience
  • Strong IT sklills
  • Requires proven problem-solving skills under pressure. The position requires detailed evaluation of a number of viable solutions to each problem.
  • Requires innovative thinking, where new and untested solutions are proposed, demonstrated, and implemented on a regular basis.
  • Requires a very high level of attention to detail and mental concentration, to ensure accuracy and total compliance with procedures at all times.
  • Must be results-driven, striving to meet all targets and metric standards as set by site/department and division leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Support the engineers with the next level of MEP to fully integrate MEP into the culture.
  • Implement programs and procedures required to ensure equipment maintenance is performed in a compliant manner.
  • Monitor the operation of equipment and systems.
  • Track, analyse and improve key Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) key performance indicators (KPI’s) such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, site maintenance compliance, schedule etc.
  • Apply knowledge in methods and processes to prevent or reduce the likelihood or frequency of failures in site systems.
  • Determine the use of predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and PM optimisation.
  • Train employees on reliability processes; train supervision on the impact that the operators and technicians have on reliability.
  • Review completed work orders, assist planners with reliability concerns, promote preventive maintenance as ongoing experiments and champion the technicians through continuous education.
  • Analyse failure history to determine the reliability characteristics of systems, and from this analysis develop long-term solutions to recurring issues.
  • Review maintenance and installation plans for new equipment, provide reliability and maintainability specifications for new procurements. Be involved in developing support plans for new equipment.
  • Demonstrate commitment towards achieving department targets.
  • Perform internal audits on engineering systems; support external audits.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of Computer Management Maintenance System (Maximo).
  • Manage the Engineering Change Control process to ensure there are no non-conformances relating to engineering change control.
  • Participate constructively as a member of the department, keeping everyone informed and proactively sharing knowledge and expertise within the team.
