Description:

Job Summary: The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of the haul truck fleet through effective maintenance strategies, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment, data analysis, and reliability engineering principles to enhance fleet performance and minimize downtime.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in reliability engineering or maintenance engineering, preferably in the mining or heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, RCM, RCA, and FMEA.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Minitab).
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Reliability Engineer, Six Sigma) are a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Reliability and Maintenance Planning:
  • Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies for the haul truck fleet.
  • Create and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Root Cause Analysis:
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and downtime events.
  • Recommend corrective actions and oversee their implementation to prevent recurrence.
  • Document findings and maintain a database of RCA reports.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement reliability improvement plans based on data analysis and industry best practices.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Utilize data analytics tools to monitor fleet performance and reliability metrics.
  • Generate regular reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management based on data analysis.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance teams and operators.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and external vendors for technical support and warranty claims.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all maintenance and reliability activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety and reliability within the fleet operations team.
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections as required.
