We are seeking Reliability Engineers to support and implement best practices outlined by Rio Tinto Asset Management, aiming to enhance the safety and performance of IOC assets. We have several positions available, focusing specifically on conveyors, pumps, and refractory systems.
Your role will involve boosting the performance and output of IOC’s assets by applying reliability principles, offering expertise to resolve issues with underper
forming assets, and fostering a culture of reliability within the organization.

Responsibilities

WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS

Reporting to the Superintendent working on a Monday-Friday schedule, you will:

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
  • When required lead root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations to prevent recurrence of critical equipment issues
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to the execution teams
  • Ensure best practices are implemented across site in specific disciplines
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Contribute to capital projects and equipment upgrades from a maintenance perspective
  • Manage and optimize maintenance plans in CMMS (e.g., SAP)
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs (e.g., equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR) and drive performance improvements
  • Coordinate with operations, planning, and reliability teams to ensure alignment of maintenance activities with production goals
  • Support shutdown and turnaround planning and execution
  • Assist in budget development and cost control for maintenance activities

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor Engineering degree or Technologist certification in a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in reliability engineering and in diagnosis and resolution of technically advanced problems
  • Sound understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) principles
  • Understanding and application of condition monitoring techniques
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with various departments and teams
  • Change driver: Capable of initiating improvements and having the influence to implement them successfull
