Description SUMMARY The Reliability Specialist is passionate about Reliability Centered Maintenance, is self-motivated and works with minimum supervision. This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing equipment reliability and maintenance efforts by owning initiatives on condition monitoring, predictive maintenance (PdM), and failure analysis activities. This role works on continuously improving unplanned downtime and improving overall equipment efficiency through PM Optimization, Pro Active Maintenance and other data-driven maintenance strategies. The reliability specialist schedules planned work that is made ready to schedule by Planning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Predictive Maintenance & Condition Monitoring Continuously improve PM effectiveness by continuously integrating previous failure modes. Schedule and evaluate results of vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, and oil analysis to monitor equipment health. Evaluate the results of tools like SKF Pulse, vibration meters, IR cameras, and other PdM tools to detect early failure signs. Evaluate the results of Electric Motor Control Analysis tools like All Test Pro Motor Genie. Interpret data trends, generate reports on equipment condition and passionately drive Reliability. Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures of over 2 hours and tie these into PMs with Maintenance Team Leads. Conduct FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) for critical assets with Maintenance Team Leads. Work with maintenance and engineering teams to implement long-term reliability improvements. Lubrication & Asset Health Management Follow and optimize lubrication schedules to prevent premature bearing and gearbox failures. Schedule and evaluate grease and oil sampling analysis and condition-based maintenance. Ensure existing correct lubricant application, storage, and contamination control practices are always followed. Work Execution & Reliability Improvements Evaluate and report weekly team performance metrics like Schedule Compliance, PMs Optimized, and Pro-Active Maintenance work orders created. Track and report weekly the teams’ booked labor hours. Track, evaluate and report weekly scheduled work including PMs that were canceled and work with the Team Leads on continuously getting better. Close all completed work orders after they are audited by Team Leads, helping the team with missed opportunities Participate in equipment overhauls, precision alignment, and balancing to extend asset life. Assist in the implementation of maintenance best practices, including 5S and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance). Data Collection & Reporting Maintain accurate documentation of inspection findings, asset history, and recommended actions. Utilize EAM (our Computerized Maintenance Management System) to log work and track asset performance. Provide detailed reports and recommendations as needed. FOOD SAFETY Responsible and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues; and empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work. If this position is vacant for any significant period of time the obligation for completion of all food safety and quality related tasks will become the responsibility of the direct manager or a qualified designee. QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience with predictive maintenance techniques, such as vibration analysis, thermography, and ultrasound. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, rotating equipment, bearings, gearboxes, and pumps. Familiarity with SKF, Emerson, Fluke, or similar reliability tools. Ability to interpret technical data, trends, and failure modes. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.CMMS experience is a plus EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Candidates with the following experience are highly preferred. Experience with Krones equipment. Previous experience in the beverage industry or packaging industry. Previous involvement in manufacturing engineering projects of a complex nature. Ability to apply a diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments Ability to take decisions independently on engineering problems and methods. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement. EDUCATION: Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience), advanced degree preferred. 3–5 years of experience as a maintenance technician or reliability technician in a manufacturing environment. An equivalent combination of education and progressive manufacturing or reliability leadership experience will be considered. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs) Weekly report on the Number of Proactive Maintenance Workorders created as a continuous improvement metric from breakdowns. Weekly number of PMs scheduled vs completed Weekly number of PMs Optimized for effectiveness along with the Team Leads. Weekly number of PdM inspections scheduled vs completed. Number of follow-up work orders created weekly from PdM. Reduction in unplanned downtime due to predictive maintenance interventions. Cost savings affected theoretically due to PdM. Accuracy of recommendations leading to cost savings and improved reliability. Participation in RCA investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
