About the role  We’re looking for a driven Reliability Engineer to join our team, based in our Dunsandel site. This is a key role focused on improving asset performance, reducing risk, and ensuring our operations run efficiently and reliably.   You’ll take the lead on identifying reliability risks, optimising maintenance strategies, and ensuring we’re doing the right work on the right assets at the right time. This is a hands-on role where your impact will be seen across safety, quality, and production outcomes.   What you’ll be doing * Maximise equipment availability and extend asset life through smart, cost-effective maintenance strategies  * Identify, assess and manage asset reliability risks across safety, quality and production  * Drive continuous improvement in reliability practices, systems and team mindset  * Support the design, installation and commissioning of new assets with a lifecycle cost focus  * Optimise preventative maintenance strategies and embed them within the EAM system  * Partner with operations and maintenance teams to lift capability and performance    About You You’re a proactive, solutions-focused engineer who thrives on improving performance and preventing problems before they happen. You bring a strong understanding of asset reliability and know how to balance risk, cost, and operational outcomes.   You’re comfortable working across teams, influencing stakeholders, and coaching others to lift capability.    You’ll also bring: * Previous experience in a reliability, maintenance or asset engineering role within an industrial environment  * Previous dairy experience is preferred however we are open to industries such as FMCG, Meat Processing, Timber, Mining or similar  * Experience with machine line modelling and asset performance analysis  * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into action  * Experience with preventative maintenance strategies and EAM systems  * Confidence to make decisions, take ownership, and drive outcomes  * A collaborative, down-to-earth approach with strong communication skills   About us – The Synlait Spirit  Synlait is more than a global leader in milk nutrition – we're a purpose-led team that’s Doing Milk Differently For A Healthier World. Our Synlait Spirit guides everything we do, from how we show up each day to the impact we create together.
