POSITION SUMMARY The Reliability Manager will play a critical role in driving equipment reliability, maintenance excellence, and operational efficiency across our manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for developing and leading preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, improving the use of CMMS for data-driven decision-making, and advancing a reliability-focused culture throughout the organization. This leader will work closely with Tooling, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering to reduce downtime, improve asset performance, support capital projects, and strengthen technical capability across the team. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with the ability to lead initiatives, solve complex equipment issues, and partner cross-functionally to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs * Streamline and strengthen the use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support proper maintenance execution and data-driven monitoring * Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) efforts to identify equipment failures and prevent recurrence * Assist the technical team with machine and tool repairs as needed * Train and develop technical team members and managers on reliability best practices, maintenance processes, and equipment care * Define, lead, and manage continuous improvement initiatives for Tooling and Maintenance * Oversee asset maintenance strategies, equipment upgrades, and future investment planning * Support and contribute to capital expenditure (CapEx) projects * Manage cross-functional teams and contractors while fostering a proactive, reliability-focused culture * Drive initiatives that improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), uptime, and operational performance QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered * 7+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, manufacturing engineering, or technical operations * Proven success developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs in a manufacturing environment * Strong experience with CMMS systems and maintenance data analysis * Demonstrated experience leading RCA, FMEA, and continuous improvement initiatives * Hands-on mechanical and/or technical troubleshooting experience with industrial equipment * Strong project management skills, including experience supporting equipment upgrades and CapEx initiatives * Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence leaders, and work effectively with contractors and technical staff * Strong communication, training, and leadership skills * Experience in plastics manufacturing, tooling, or high-volume production environments preferred COMPENSATION & BENEFITS * Base Salary: $150,000 * Bonus Opportunity: Up to $20,000 annually * Travel Stipend: $1,200 per month for the first 12 months ($14,400 annualized) * Paid Time Off: 128 hours annually * Company-issued phone and computer provided TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS * 75% travel required in the Charlotte facility * Expected onsite presence approximately 3 out of every 4 weeks WHY JOIN SCHAEFER PLASTICS?
